2nd Anniversary @ Terraz Bistro

Late Late Late post...I know. It's been months since i last posted here. Last month's our anniversary by the way. I was too busy with work, volleyball practices and out of town galore.

TERRAZ BISTRO

Heard of it? yes? no? Well actually, this restaurant is one of the most private restaurant in Makati and probably one of the newest baby of Raintree Group of Restaurants. Basically, it is one of the sister company of chelsea, saboten, M Cafe and etc.

My plan of surprising my partner here started a few weeks before our anniversary and I was browsing for a cozy, romantic restaurant to make our anniversary date special yet affordable at the same time. Then "ting!" I remember Frederick Arellano!. Remember him? I posted about him during my birthday celebration at Saboten with my hubby 2 years ago. He is the corporate sous chef of Raintree. Actually, I was hesitant to call him because he's one of the busiest person I know but I was desperate. I sent him a text and surprisingly replied earlier than I thought.

He suggested Terraz.....and he suggested it as if he wants me to really try it.....or maybe he meant "Say no and you'll regret it" hahaha okay that was exaggerating. He showed me the website and menu so that I can pre-order so by the time when me and hubby will arrive at the site, everything will already be in place.

Terraz Bistro is located at 3rd floor Zuellig Building at Makati Avenue corner Paseo de Roxas. If you'll have your first glance at the building, you wouldn't even know that there's this fantastic restaurant existing inside. I asked their supervisor about this and told me that it was used to be exclusive until recently when they opened to the public.

GETTING THERE

February 27, 2015, I met up with hubby in his office since it's nearer there going to makati. Instead of meeting him inside his office, he asked me to wait outside the carpark so that I won't see his surprise. But there's no use of hiding it as the smell of my most favorite stargazer overpowers the smell of his car freshener. Kinilig kaagad ako pagkaamoy ko nyan hahaha sweet!!!!! <3

Our reservation is at 8:30 but we were late due to heavy traffic. What's new Manila? Glad Waze app is invented. It made our travel going to Makati easier. Arrived 30 minutes late.
If it's your first time to dine here and you're unfamiliar with the place, it would be wise to ask question from people around the area. We missed the building's parking lot once.

By the time we got in, our initial reaction was "are we really on the right place? Building for corporate business, tight security and other things that would make you think that there's no fancy restaurant inside

INSIDE TERRAZ

The restaurant is hidden on the 3rd floor.....hidden talaga? hahaha Once inside, you'll be greeted with polite receptionist and will bring you to your seats. The place is cozy. Very quiet and romantic it is. Fred is not joking when he said cozy. It is not only ideal for dates but also for private meetings. They have private function room that can accomodate 10-20 pax. They do also have a huge events room where they can accomodate hundreds of people though I forgot which floor.

They also have an open kitchen where some of their dishes are being prepped :) God I miss the kitchen.

And God thank you because my partner really do love the place....Now let's see if he'll like food :)

OUR MENU

Since they don't have set menus "meaning that the set includes dishes from appetizer to dessert", I handpicked my own menu from Appetizer to Dessert

To start off, they gave us complimentary Flat breads with dips. I love the dips but as much as I want to order more of this but we're saving our hungry stomachs for the main event :)

APPETIZERS

I ordered US Beef Garlic Salpicao Skewers. This I have to give 5/5 for the flavor and presentation. But the serving is quite few. But that's okay. The beef is so flavorful and soft that it's ready to melt in your mouth

SOUP

\

I ordered two kinds of soup: Creamy white is the Seafood clam Chowder for my hubby and Dark colored is Melted French Onion Soup for me. my hubby liked the onion soup so we switched soup :)

SALAD

It's the kitchen's worst nightmare: Customer asking for their dishes to split into two during peak hours of the meal. Glad there were only few tables :) I humbly for my salad and main course to be split into two :)

Double smoked bacon and & Fresh Spinach Salad served with sunny side up picorino and ranch dressing. At first glance, you won't see the dressings. You really won't see it because it is poured beneath the greens :) Best way not to ruin the presentation of the salad :) I love this dish

FISH COURSE

Sorry guys but this dish is a little downer for me. I ordered blue marlin steak ala pobre. The fish is bland and dry.

MAIN COURSE

Grilled Bacon Wrapped Pork Medallion & Foie Gras
It's my partner's first time to try foie gras. By the way he doesn't eat ducks so I zipped my mouth first before letting him know that it's a duck/goose liver :) But he kinda liked it hahaha. This time actually we're already full. Saving few more for desserts

DESSERTS

My ever favorite Nutella Dome cake...If it's not for emergeny calls due to work, I would have enjoyed this desserts more. Another cake by the way is the Cookie Dough Cheesecake.

This restaurant is highly recommended. Best for dates :) Affordable, cozy romantic...and for us couple....PERFECT!

I guess a few selfie wouldn't hurt
