I'm the type of person that when I'm in a place where I haven't visited before, I'll make the most out of it by giving myself a tour. And that didn't stop me from doing so even if the rest of us the company are sleeping.
I took my driver with me and went on our destination
JEST CAMP
JEST Camp or Jungle Environmental Survival Training Camp is a place where they give people a chance to learn hands-on jungle training like how to lit up a fire from raw wood materials 101. You'll also have close-up experience with animals and plants.
But what I'm really after is seeing an actual tarantula. I haven't seen one. I'm actually arachnophobic so I don't know what will happen if I see one
You'll find the ticket booth at the entrance itself. The price is P200 ....I think I forgot hahaha. You'll also find their souvenir shop here.
Here's the list of what you can do inside JEST CAMP:
BIRD ZOO
Their mini zoo is actually composed mainly of birds. No mammals few insects and arachnids and a reptile. So for the people who love birds of different feathers, this is a must-visit place.
Here are the picture of different kinds of birds from common to fabulous
Pigeons
Others from funky and feathery chicken, colorful peacock to birds of prey. Some are caged and others are free to roam around, but most are flightless bords.
BIRD MUSEUM
Further inside Jest Camp, you'll find a mini bird museum where you can read trivias about different types of birds and their behavior. You can also take a picture on a wall with wings. Now I do look fabulous.
FACING MY FEAR
This is it. Meeting with Spidey. Funny how I never got goosebumps despite my fears of being near them
But insectarium is quite disappointing.I didn't see much insects aside from live cockroaches. I didn't come this far just to see cockroach ugh!
BUTTERFLY GARDEN
If there's one thing I'm having trouble taking pictures with, it's butterfly. They don't stay in one place for a long time most of the time and they will immediately fly if the sensed someone approaching.
Lucky me, I caught one butterfly and took a picture of it while it's still in my hand
And while they're mating....ssshhhhh do not disturb!!!!!
OTHERS
You can also fine an amphitheater here where they teach us "How to Survive the Jungle 101". You can also ride an extreme swing here, so high that I'm scared to try it.
LUNCH TIME
Beside JEST Camp is the Tree Top. Unfortunately since it's Good Friday, they are open only until 11 am so I won't really be able to visit the place. Next time I guess.
Time to go back home for lunch. We ate our lunch Aristocrat. Still, no meat for lenten season.
The second half day will be on the next post in ZOOBIC SAFARI
