Kerry's Journey to the World: Reunion:Heatnix 101

Ten years ago, a group called heatnix was formed. Its members are consist of 4th year students of batch 2004, specifically in section 2. Shocks!!! Thunders na!!!!! haha

It's already been a decade since our last major get together, so I decided to organize a reunion. I started posting polls in our facebook groups to decide for the venue and schedule on July. And majority chose Buffet 101 on a weekend night. I set August 17, 2013, one month after as the final date for the event so everyone can have their preparations like fixing their schedule.. I made a reservation of 15-20 pax.

We still managed to get to the venue even if its raining hard, worried that others might not make it. I picked up Abigail Chua and Hedy along the way. Rhea was the first one to arrived

Early birds gets the early w.... uhm gets the first batch of food hahaha. Then followed by me with Abi and Hedy. Glad that traffic is not that heavy even though it's raining. And we're hungry!!!!! Then others came one by one, or by pair kasi may mag-howe ^_^ I'm glad Robinson and Tiffany also joined us.

BUFFET 101

Buffet 101 is a luxurious buffet restaurant that serves from local to international cuisines. They have two branches, MOA and Robinson's Magnolia. MOA's branch has the capacity of more or less 500 pax. It's top competitor is Vikings which is located to the other side of MOA bayside. But I'll let you guys do the comparison between the two. Of course I like one over the other.

AMBIANCE

The place is cozy. Even though how crowded it gets doesn't loses its elegance.. It's wide and spacious from the buffet area up to the dining. Well-lighted. Amazing. 10/10

ACCESIBILITY

Buffet 101 is located at the mall, so going there is easy. It has a parking lot of its own too. I never had trouble with their reservation. I made it one week in advance. They will only save your seats until 6:30 in the evening to accommodate other guests, so b there earlier. 10/10

FOOD

I'm not sure if MOA's branch serves the same food as Magnolia's. It has an open kitchen for the dimsum, carving station and grilling station.

Here are some of the dishes that are served in mini spoons, shooters etc.

They have their own carving station, grilling station etc.

If you're going to dine here at a weekend night, grilled wagyu beef striploin is highly recommended. It's one of the expensive meat and it's very soft and tender. Better make the most out of it.

SUSHI and SASHIMI Bar

They have different sets of sashimis, which some are unfamiliar to me. It's a must try too. I'm a japanese cuisine fan. Tempura is also one their main attraction

SALAD STATION

MAIN COURSE

This is the station for the main course. Since they don't have stations for every cuisine, everything here is mixed from filipino cuisine like caldereta to chinese cuisine and etc.

DESSERTS

They also have a large variety of desserts here in Buffet 101.

Fruits here are well carved. Talagang pinaghirapan muna bago i-serve

They have cakes and cupcakes too though I never got the chance to taste them all. I was already full by the time I'm eating desserts.

Desserts are served in all sizes and shapes. Here are the miniature desserts that are served in shooters like panna cotta, tiramisu, and jelly. On the right picture are the mousse, cheesecake and etc.

They also have their halo-halo station, yoghurt, waffle and crepe station

BEVERAGE

What I like about their beverage is that they serve fresh fruit juices. Sarap ang tamis!!! Then they also serve beverages, iced tea, blue lemonade and red lemonade

OVERALL FOOD 9/10

AFFORDABILITY

Buffet 101 prices is quite expensive, yes but every food is worth it. Having Wagyu as their steak in carving station is already make the experience worthwhile. They also offer 5% discount if you're going to pay in cash. 9/10
