My first destination of the year 2014...... Baguio City!!! The summer capital of the Philippines.
It's one of the best places in the Philippines where you could have a summer vacation, though it's very crowded during this season. The coldest season of this place is from December to February, the month of Panagbenga Flower Festival that the temperature can drop as low as 7 degrees. But I think Sagada is colder, because two summers ago, we also went to Baguio coming from Sagada and there's a big difference in temperature.
A five hour drive from Manila, you have to pass by Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Urdaneta, and Rosario, La Union before reaching Kennon Road. Actually, there are two roads that leads to the city from Rosario, Kennon Road or Marcos Highway. Kennon Road is the fastest route but narrower and has a few steep inclines while Marcos Highway is longer but wider. It's way way safer in Marcos of course specially when travelling at night.
It's much easier to travel to Baguio now. There are three expressways where you can pass though it's quite pricey. First the NLEX from Balintawak to Dau, Pampanga which costs P218, then SCTEX (P100) and TPLEX (P79) all the way to Paniqui, Tarlac. It's a total of more or less 2 hour travel time for you to get to the exit. Almost P400...ka-ching ($.$)
During early 90's, it usually takes 8 hours or more to travel one way. There was no SCTEX, no TPLEX, and NLEX has only two lanes, a pain in the butt for sitting that long so I'm not complaining to the price. haha
The last time I visited Baguio was during the Holy week of April 2009. I won't forget that week because I came all the way from Puerto Galera for an overnight beach vacation to Manila just to get my things then travel again all the way to Baguio without rest, a total of almost 12 hours travel. Whew!
I left with the second batch at 2pm due to work. First batch left at 9 in the morning and visited Manaoag before going to Baguio.
We had our snack at the expressway at Army Navy. Glad that Erwin and I had our lunch before we left the house so we didn't eat much. Then we left as soon as we're done
Here's the second batch by the way. It's a very quick lunch actually. They finished eating their burgers in a span of 20 minutes. Then we left as soon as we're done. EAT & RUN
4:45pm- Paniqui, Tarlac
This is the where you'll have your exit from TPLEX. That saved us few hours of travel time.

Last stop over. This was taken in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan located somewhere between Baguio and Tarlac. Few Hours to go!

7:00pm-Kennon Road, Baguio
7:00pm-Kennon Road, Baguio
It was supposed to be an hour drive here from Paniqui, but there are too many roads that are under construction. There's a toll gate also in Kennon Road. Well, as long as the zigzag road's making a progress about convenience and safety, there's no problem.
8:00pm- Peter's ville
After 6 hours of travel (inclusive of agony in zigzags and traffic), we're here!!! Finally! Since it's already night time, there's not much to visit.
Here's the first batch by the way.
Dinner time, we ate sunny side-up eggs, salted egg with tomato, fried eggplant and garlic rice. It might be a typical Filipino breakfast but for us. It's a major family feast! Then afterwards, Poker time!!!! Hihihi
